I’m SO excited to share pictures — and a video! — of my dream closet makeover with you today I could scream! Designed by Natasha Minasian of Minasian Interiors with TCS Closets for The Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Show House, presented by Traditional Home, it’s more than I could have ever dreamed. First, remember when Fred Baby gifted me a closet makeover…four years ago? Well, needless to say, I never collected on that. Not his fault at all, more mine, as I just couldn’t imagine it in the space we were in and never acted on it. However, when we moved into our new house, the wheels started spinning.
It helped that I had designed a dream closet (aka “The Glam Cave” — see video here) for The Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Show House last year, so I had a strong idea of what I wanted — basically the same thing, but in my house this time – ha! Luckily, designer Natasha Minasian came through and then some.
Plot twist: Can you believe I was sick throughout nearly the entire house renovation? More on that in another post, but suffice it to say I never even got to meet Natasha in person to chat about the closet design until one day before the Show House opened to the public. Yes, seriously! But my superhero Fred Baby was there to communicate my desires and Natasha totally got it. And then elevated it. I adore her!
When I say we met the day before the Show House opened, really I mean the night before. At 1am. I won’t get into too much detail now, but let’s just say any noises were startling to me in my unwell state, so I worked to design my room after everyone had left for the day (all the contractors and designers). I needed peace and quiet (um, and Valium!) so I could focus. Natasha was still at the house at 1am styling out the closet when we first met. It was love at first sight, with both Natasha and the closet.
I mean, is this closet stunning or what!? Natasha killed it.
Considering the size of the house and the master bedroom and bathroom, the previous closet was disproportionately small. There was a bedroom next door, which I had been using as my office, so we decided to knock down the wall between the master closet and that bedroom to create The Cloffice!
The entire closet is TCS by The Container Store (yes, they do custom closets!). I love the Pure White cabinetry and glass handles and pulls that look like lucite. Natasha also added in integrated lighting and it’s amazing…like having your own boutique!
The goal was not just to make a closet but an office as well, which we dubbed The Cloffice. It’s here where I work and am typing this post now from that gorgeous desk. Speaking of gorgeous, check out that chandelier!
So let’s have a good look, shall we?
The wallpaper. It’s my dream wallpaper, Brazilliance by Dorothy Draper. I adore it. It’s like my own Beverly Hills Hotel hideaway.
But I also wanted plenty of white to balance it out. The white cabinetry, white curtains and white wall keep it feeling light and airy. Side note: I also love how Natasha added that gold bar (where her wedding dress is hanging), so I can prep the outfits I’ll be shooting for the week.
There’s plenty of space for all my clothing, bags and shoes — and even some of Fred Baby’s too. 
Wish I could say all of those dreamy orange Hermes boxes were mine, but they’re Natasha’s. She’s fancy like that. But seriously, she styled The Cloffice so gorgeously for the Show House. I’ll share a post later with what it looks like with my own wardrobe and how I’ve organized things, but where those orange boxes are, now that’s where my shoes reside. And on the top row, I’ve put a few hats. Note the bottom right “drawer.”
It’s actually a pull-out hamper! So you never have to have anything unsightly out ruining the beautiful vibe.
The closets come with lots of bells and whistles, including jewelry drawers. This is something I desperately struggled with for years — how to organize my jewels. Finally, they have an organized home which makes getting dressed a million times easier.
There are also pull-out rods, perfect for pulling together an outfit or hanging tote bags. And above, did you notice the pull-out mirror?
Speaking of mirrors, this oval mirror is amazing too, from Ferguson Showrooms, as it lights up! And aren’t those chairs incredible? Natasha not only is an interior designer, but she also owns and operates two trade showrooms, one in Costa Mesa called Estate of Design and one in San Diego called Designers Resource Collection. She has access to so many incredible resources.
